Keeping Your Perfume From Going Bad

How long does perfume last?

Perfume isn’t highly perishable and usually lasts for many years, but there are actions you can take to ensure that it lasts as long as possible.

Proper Storage Is Key

While perfume certainly doesn’t need to be refrigerated and doesn’t even need to be in a comfortable, well air-conditioned room, it does need to be protected from extreme heat. We take action to prevent heat spikes in our warehouse, and you need to do the same.

The greatest enemy to any fragrance -- no matter the quality, the price or which company made is -- is sunlight. We recommend that you not store products in the sun, and that contributes to heat buildup . We also suggest that you not display perfumes, colognes or other fragrance products in the sunlight.

If perfume is protected from extreme heat, the box can do a fine job of protecting the product from the sun. In fact, we recommend that you store your open bottles in their boxes or in a drawer to help them stay fresh as long as possible.
